The Turner Valley Gas Plant will be given a $2 million funding injection from the provincial government to proceed into developing the site into a tourist attraction.

The current controversy regarding the water is related to RAW water and not your drinking water. The Town of Black Diamond wants you to know that your drinking water is safe for consumption.

Recently two forums were held on the local water issues and the Gas Plant. The first forum was held in Black Diamond on October 25th and the second was at the Town Hall Meeting in Turner Valley on November 1st.

Edmonton...Turner Valley Gas Plant is now closed for the 2005 season. The gas plant closes for public tours after Labour Day and only allows tours by appointment until Remembrance Day.

The most recent tests by Alberta Environment show that methyl mercury levels have decreased in the Sheep River downstream from the Turner Valley Gas Plant, but residents say the results don’t conclusively show the river is safe.

The story goes that Little Chicago got it's name from Rex Warman as he was called "Little Al Capone" because of scar he had on his top lip and because his customers felt his prices were "gangster-like" high. Rex owned the first building in Little Chicago
