BC forestry firms launch a marketing campaign: “Tackle climate change — use wood”
The British Columbia Forestry Climate Change Working Group recently unveiled their new “Tackle climate change — use wood” campaign. In addition to highlighting the primary uses of wood as a building material, the campaign also draws attention to mill residue’s use as a source for biofuel.  

Bruce Power releases commissioned study
According to a preliminary study prepared for Bruce Power Alberta, a nuclear power plant would create more than 2,700 long-term jobs in the Peace Country and contribute $12 billion of gross domestic product to Alberta during the construction period alone. Bruce Power currently operates two nuclear reactors, Bruce A and B, in Ontario.  

GLOBE Carbon Registry set to open in Summer 2008
The GLOBE Carbon Registry, set to open in Summer 2008, is looking for stakeholder input on the creation and design of the registry. The registry will serve to verify and validate carbon offsets using a custom standard, which involves assigning a unique serial number to each posted offset.
