June 29 1963, rainfall of four to five inches caused the Sheep river to go on a rampage. It rose ten feet and washed out the Royalite Dam just below the bridge.

There are 22 buildings on the Turner Valley Gas Plant site, but two of the most recognizable are the Gas and Scrubbing Plants.

The Royalite sulphur plant can be seen in this general view of the east end of the Turner Valley Gas Plant site, taken in 1953.

The compression plant, built in 1938, had three compressors. This picture was taken after a fourth was added in 1941, but before 1944 when two more were installed.
