James Alexander Lougheed

Historical
Born in Brampton Ontario September 1, 1854. Working as a library assistant his quick mind was recognized and was encourged to return to school. He attended Osgoode Hall and completed studies in law in 1877.
Practicing Law in Toronto until late 1882 then set out for the west.
Settled in Calgary arriving ahead of the Canadian Pacific Railway, among the 100 citizens who celebrated the arrival of the first train August 11, 1883. James A. Lougheed, lawyer/investor became involved as an investor in Calgary Petroleum Products in 1911.
