These two pioneer gas wells, completed by Calgary Petroleum Products (Bill Herron, R.B. Bennett and A.W. Dingman), started the prosperous era of the oil and gas industry in Alberta. Their first well #1 - at a depth of 2,718 feet blew in at a rate of 4 million cubic feet of wet gas per day on May 14 , 1914
