Website Update – Barb advised that the hits for March 2008 were
148,850 and April to the 22nd, 2008 were 143,300. We need to send a letter to the
Granting bodies to report the kind of hits we have been receiving and their funding
Has gone a long way in educating the public about the Turner Valley Oilfields.
Laptop – Toshiba doesn’t carry the battery anymore. Barb will check with
Ebay. Gary also advised that he knows some people and for Barb to send the battery info to him to see what he can do.
Video – Barb advised that That’s Entertainment in Okotoks will put the VHS
Onto DVD. Jim to contact them for a price
Walking Tour – Maureen is working with the subcommittee for pathways, they have some good fundraising ideas. Our involvement would be historical signage. The committee is talking about an information center. As a starting point maybe we need to make up a proposal to recognize the different areas ie, dog pound. Using small metal signs on a sign tree pointing to the direction of these historical communites. Gary to take to council to see what they think.
License Plates – no info yet
Turner Valley Oil & Gas Committee – N/A
Turner Valley Gas Plant Regional Advisory Panel – money is in the provincial budget. We have sent out a letter to the ministers to keep the site in mind. Official notice
Should be coming soon regarding the budgeted funds.
Business Plan Meeting – we need to look at redoing the whole thing. Maureen willing to go through the plan and see what is usable. She will come up with an outline.
New Business:
Glenis Currie has approached Sharlene regarding funding for a retirement thing for Wayne Page from Alberta Community Development. Wayne will be gone as of May 15th. Sandra moves that we give $50 towards gift/event seconded by Barb and carried.
