Meeting called to order at 7:35pm



Moved by Joy to approve the agenda with the following additions:

Approval to purchase a Laptop AC Adaptor

Approval to purchase a Laptop Battery

Introduction of new Board Member



Dona introduced our new Turner Valley Board Member - Gary Rowntree who is very interested

in our group. Dona will try to make some of our meetings



Minutes of January 24, 2008 moved by Maureen to approve with the following amendments:

Walking Tour discussed with town committee (Parks, Pathways and Recreation)



Moved by Barb to approve the Treasurer's Reports for December 2007 and

January 2008 as presented, seconded by Joy and carried

Sharlene advised that the trust account was physically closed in November 2007

General account has $12,016.18.



Cowboy Trail - Town of Turner Valley will contribute. Split will be 3 ways with the

Town of Turner Valley and The Black Diamond Economic Development Committee.

Turner Valley Oilfield Society to pay the invoice and invoice the towns for their portion.



Old Business:



Website: to February 18th 2008 we had 70,307 for the month. The totals for January were 121,021 hits



Video: Video from Al Kimal VHS copies. He has supplied 2 copies in VHS format with the original being

in Vancouver, he will try again to supply a DVD format. Jim to find an email address for Al so we can send him

a thank you from our card site. Jim now has the VHS videos of Rednecks, Roughnecks and Doodlebugs



Walking Tour: Maureen to contact the people from Little Chicago (Linda Gayette) Dona has brought it

to the Parks Committee to link up. It will tie into the Friendship Trail. Maureen would like to work with

the Parks committee, it might be an idea to have benches with plaques for significant sites.



Business Plan Meeting: It was discussed at our December meeting that we need to review and

have something current. Can we update ourselves? Heather would like time to look at it and suggests

using our April meeting to review as a whole group.



Turner Valley Oil and Gas Committee: they have had a couple of meetings and are putting their terms

of reference together. There will be a meeting sometime in March for the first meeting with all

stakeholders.



License Plate Quotes: Brush Strokes seems to be out of busines

Spy Design Quote in straight metal not embossed $20 each

Digi Power in plastic $20 each

Jim will get hold of John Wiigs before we make a decision.



New Business:



Barb advised the committee that the Laptop requires a new AC Adaptor and Battery.

Moved by Maureen and seconded by Jim that we purchase both for up to $200 each item carried.



Libby Fairweather is inquiring if we have pictures of the Heritage Trees in downtown Black Diamond.

Barb is pretty sure she hasn't seen any in our stuff but suggests contacting Ida Weglin or Bill Blakeman



Postcards of Dingman. Moved by Barb and seconded by Jim to give Gary the postcards we have for

Dingman 1 and 2 for a give away at the Calgary Oil Show carried.



Look at coming up with a project for next years Discovery Days.
