Advisory Panel - Report has gone to the minister recommending he proceed with an Interpretive Center. The report comes about after 20 months of work by the panel. The minister has advised that he will be requesting monies be put into the provincial budget to work on
the panels conclusions. Anything that is dangerous to public health has been cleaned up where the public will be allowed to walk. Monitoring to be done on a continuos basis. Water from the plant site is good or better than comes down the river after it flows through the containment system. Polluted soil has been taken out and replaced with residential standard soil on walk ways
The Cowboy Trail - moved by Maureen and seconded by Joy that we pay 1/3 the membership in partnership with the Town of Turner Valley and the Black Diamond Economic Development Committee at Spur Level for 2008. For information Barb advised that the Black Diamond Economic Development committee will be buying into the Cowboy Trail with a full membership for 2009.
Turner Valley Oil & Gas Committee - Dona advised that the committee is just getting up and running. Local contractors will be educated about working around well sites as they have already had some problems. The committee will be setting priorities for both short and long term. Dona will keep us advised.
