Meeting called to order by Jim at 7:37pm

Moved by Sharlene to approve the minutes of August 30, 2007 as presented, carried



Sharlene advised that the Trust monies have been moved to a GIC as of October 15th with

An anticipated interest of $2300 per year. Trust account is still open.

Membership annual dues discussed and we will need to invoice both towns for their

Membership as we keep forgetting about doing that

Moved by Barb to approve the Treasurer’s Report as presented, carried

Barb to send a Thank you to Ian Carver for having Dumphy Utility Services donate to us

For storage use at the site.



Old Business:



Website – Barb advised that she hasn’t looked at the numbers for November but the hits for October to the 25th were 109,000

Grant proposal for maintenance and updates done to the site for $2000 has been sent in as of today to Heritage Museum Assistance. Sharlene will look into Historica for another $2000 grant.



Business Plan – We did our business plan on September 25, 2004 and should review it. Sharlene will send out to everyone for preparation for next meeting.



Advisory Panel – Last meeting was October 29th where a Chinese delegation was in from the National School with 6 professors. They were here to learn how the panel has involved the community and how decisions were made. They will be taking the ideas back to China and incorporate into their education on how to make more democratic decisions. Recommendations should be into the minister hopefully by December



Some time was spent on bringing Al up to speed on the gas plant and how it can possibly benefit the communities.



Walking Tour – This years project will be the walking tour for the colourful districts in Turner Valley ie. Whisky Row, Dog Town, Poverty Flats etc.

Helping out is welcome.









Video – No news, Jim will speak with Al Kimmel again and see if we can get the

VHS and have it made into DVD professionally.



Conoco Phillips $100,000 cheque – Marj has investigated and spoke with Irv Allen (a member of the Historical Society at the time). He advised her that the cheque did come in but as the society wasn’t doing anything at the time the cheque was returned to them. Barb to write to Shawn Willets and advise him of the outcome and see if they are interested in donating the money again now.
