Bruce Anderson, Marj Straub, Brenda Smethurst, Carol McCreary, George Farr Jones, Sandra Farr Jones, Jim McCreary, Joy Hinman, Sharlene Brown, Maureen Nelson, and Barb Froud
Attendees were entertained with the movie “The Story of Oil” National Film Board of Canada
Meeting Called to Order: 2:50pm
Questions & Answers: We can refer people to the National Film Board of Canada for the DVD -“The Story of Oil”
Clearance from Calgary Health Authority was in the spring of 2005
information had just not changed hands as efficiently
Adoption of Agenda: Moved by Marj to adopt agenda as presented carried
Adoption of Minutes of June 26, 2005 with the following corrections - Old Business insure the laptop to “use” on the site not “sue”
Catherine Whalley’s name under question and answers. Moved by Sharlene to adopt as amended. Carried
Financial Statement - Last year we changed our year end from December to June.
Plaque grant money came in after year end. Moved by Sandra to adopt the Financial Statements
as presented as carried.
Old Business:
Website Update: Barb reported that site is seeing an average of 40,393 hits per month.
Total hits since November 2005 were 484,724. Still looking for pictures for the postcards.
Valley Gas - Malvern Davies passed away. Malvern has previously stated that anything that we wanted out of Valley Gas the society could have. Things may have changed. There are a few shareholders still involved in the business. Jim will be speaking with Len Davies and his mom.
Gas Plant: Turner Valley Gas Plant Resolution Panel which Jim sits on as TVOS member, Sharlene as Black Diamond Rep and Joy as member at large. Barb sits as Jim’s alternate.
Next meeting they are going to be changing their meetings and letting the committee know what
has been done. They will be asking what we want to be done. We will need to state that we want and interpretive center. Committee to make sure that the land and water is safe and viable.
Once we have accepted that we are satisfied it’s safe then we can recommend that we move forward.
There are several groups of students studying the plant and the remediation.

Governor General was in Millarville this spring and we did a display and gave her security a
pin to give to her.

Annual Dues: Moved by Sandra that we continue with the annual dues
yearly carried.

Vice President-Maureen Nelson moved by Joy carried
Joy phoning committee - Barb to supply list
Secretary-Barb moved by Marg carried
Treasurer-Sharlene moved by Marg carried
Moved Sandra to approve Bev Goble as society auditor seconded by Joy carried
Bank Signing Authority: Moved by Barb that the bank signing stay as is with any two of the three signing.
